Der klassische symmetrische Spinnaker ist für sehr tiefe Kurse bis AWA* 150°-180° und AWS** 10-25 kn Wind geeignet.	Der Asymmetrischer Spinnaker (Gennaker) ist für höhere Kurse AWA* 110°-150° und AWS** 10-25 kn Wind geeignet.

* AWA = apparent wind angle (scheinbarer Windeinfallswinkel)

** AWS = apparent wind speed (scheinbare Windgeschwindigkeit)
